History

Tommy C. Chappell, Pastor Emeritus
Tommy C. Chappell, Pastor Emeritus, observed the conditions of the East Lake Community and read the newspapers’ account of the economy, education, crime and overall problems affecting the quality of life in the area. With all of this knowledge at hand, he was moved to make life better for the people in this area. Finally in 2005, the New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church Community Support Corporation (NRSMBC CSC) was founded.
The Corporation was filed with the Judge of Probate of Jefferson County on the 11th day of October 2005 and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation on April 23, 2007.
